Tour plans
Tirana – Kruja
Embark on a captivating day tour from Tirana to the historic town of Kruja, a place deeply rooted in Albanian heritage. The journey to Kruja will be arranged by comfortable car or minibus, depending on the number of participants.
Upon arrival, we begin our visit at the Old Bazaar, a charming Ottoman-style market filled with traditional handicrafts, colorful textiles, handmade qilim (Balkan carpets), and folk clothing. This is a perfect place to experience authentic Albanian craftsmanship and purchase unique souvenirs.
We then visit the Castle of Kruja, perched dramatically on a hilltop, offering stunning views and historical significance. Inside the castle walls, we explore the Skanderbeg Museum, dedicated to Albania's national hero who led the resistance against the Ottoman Empire.
Our journey continues to the Ethnographic Museum, housed in a beautifully preserved Ottoman-era building that once belonged to the noble Toptani family. Here, you'll explore the original rooms of the household, including those of the servants and craftsmen. Approximately 90% of the artifacts are authentic and offer an intimate glimpse into traditional Albanian life.
After the cultural visits, enjoy free time to wander through the bazaar or relax. An optional lunch can be arranged at a local restaurant, where you can savor traditional Albanian cuisine in a warm and authentic setting.
In the afternoon, we return to Tirana with unforgettable memories of Albania's cultural heartland.
